In the 1700s, military drummers would roam the streets of town at sunset beating a rhythm to let tavern owners know it was time to close and send the military personnel back to their posts, at which point a flag lowering ceremony would take place. Today, the RCMP Academy Depot Division re-enacts this display for crowds at sunset on Tuesday evenings over the summer.
